14303 Antihopping slipper clutch GSXR600 – mounting
instructions
Congratulations, you bought one of best clutch systems for
your GSXR.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced Suzuki
workshop, or mechanic.
- Read
these instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes
all parts.
- Remove
the old clutch drum ( according Suzuki workshop manual ), clean the threads
on the shaft and big nut of old glue with brake cleaner.
- Make
sure the shim ( original ) is between basket and drum before you install
the clutch.
- Install
pre mounted slipper clutch.
- Install
both original steel washers as stock.
- Tighten
the big nut ( STD ) with torque 127
Nm and secure it with glue Loctite No. 620 (RED).
- Put in
the push pin with axial bearing and steel washer as standard.
- This
slipper clutch is designed for using the original clutch plates. In the standard clutch plate set are
thin steel rings with wire spring and a special friction plate. NEVER
mount them first ( from case). Mount a normal friction plate first, than a
steel plate, and then the thinner friction plate with steel rings. The
remaining plates mount to position as standard.
- Install
pressure plate.
- Put original
clutch springs in position as before, install spring kit-retainers, and
tighten the bolts.
Check for the correct clearance
between pressure plate and clutch hubvia the small holes in the pressure plate.
Correct clearance is about1.0 mm. Minimal clearance is 0,5mm. When the clutch
plates wear to this thickness, replace all friction plates with new ones.
- In
case you use aftermarket friction plates, you can reach correct clearance
by using

- Every
time use new clutch cover gasket.
- Mount
case cover according to Suzuki workshop manual.
- Check
the clearance on pushrod. On the engine left side by small sprocket under
rudder cover is adjusting bolt. Correct clearance is 0,5 mm. If this is
too tight, the clutch will slip under acceleration.
TUNING TIPS

in case you have strong tuned up engine, the clutch can
slip by acceleration. Use the shorter KIT spring retainers 14209 to solve it

in case you prefer more engine braking, use again
spring retainers 14209
