14703 Antihopping slipper clutch MV Agusta 1000 – mounting
instructions
Congratulation, you bought one of best clutch systems for
your MV Agusta 1000.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced MV Agusta
workshop, or mechanic.
- Read
this instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes
all parts.
- Remove
the old clutch drum ( according MV workshop manual ), clean the threads on
the shaft and big nut of old glue with brake cleaner. Be careful with the
order of the safety shim, you will want to use it again…

Check shim ( original ) is between basket and drum, when you replace it.
- Install
pre mounted slipper drum.
- Put
original steel safety washer.
- Tighten
the big nut (original) with torque 127 Nm and secure it with glue Würth,
Berner or Loctite No. 620 (RED), and secure it with the safety shim as original.
- This
slipper clutch is designed to use the original clutch plates. Install the
STD clutch plates in same position as before (mark plates when removing).
- Remove
the inside bearing spacer from STD pressure plate and put it into KIT
pressure plate.
- Install
the pressure plate.
- Put original
clutch springs in position as before, install new spring retainers , tighten
all bolts.
Check for the correct clearance
between the pressure plate and clutch hub via the small holes in the pressure
plate. The correct clearance is about 1.0 mm.
- Mount
case cover according to MV workshop manual.
