14803 Antihopping slipper clutch VTR 1000 SP – mounting
instructions
Congratulation, you bought one of best clutch systems for
your VTR 1000 SP.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced Honda
workshop, or mechanic.
- Read
this instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes
all parts.
- Remove
the old clutch drum (according to the Honda workshop manual ), clean the threads
on the shaft and big nut from old glue with brake cleaner.
- Check
positioning of clutch drum with oil pump driven gear. Put shim (Original)
between basket and drum, when you replace it.
- Install
pre mounted slipper drum.
- Put
thick original steel washer as STD.
- Tighten
the big nut ( Original ) with
torque 127 Nm and secure it with Loctite No. 620 RED, and safe it as STD.
- This
slipper clutch is designed for using STD clutch plates. Never install the special
friction plate with internal steel rings in first position. First install
a normal friction plate and steel drive plate. Then install the special
friction plate with the judder rings. Install
the rest of the normal clutch plates in same position as before ( mark plates when removing ).
- Install
push pin ( STD ) to push rod.
- Install
the pressure plate.
- Put
STD clutch springs in position as before, put spring kit-retainers, tighten
all M6x30 ( kit ) bolts.
Check for the correct clearance
between pressure plate and clutch hub via
the small holes in the pressure plate. Correct clearance is 1.0 – 1.5 mm.
- Mount
case cover according to Honda workshop manual.
TUNING TIPS

in case, you have strong tuned up engine, you can use
HRC springs

also if you prefer more breaking engine, use HRC
springs
