14903 Antihopping slipper clutch Hayabusa – mounting
instructions
Congratulations, you bought one of best clutch systems for
your Suzuki.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced Suzuki workshop,
or mechanic.
- Read these
instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes all
parts.
- Remove
the old clutch ( according Suzuki workshop manual ), clean the threads on
the shaft and big nut of old glue with brake cleaner.
- Make
sure the shim ( original ) is still between the basket and drum.
- Install
pre mounted slipper drum.
- Install
curved washer ( original ).
- Tighten
the big nut ( original ) with
torque 120 Nm and secure it with glue Loctite No. 620 (RED).
- This
slipper clutch is designed for using original clutch plates, and for using
6 pcs. clutch springs from Suzuki GSXR1000K1-4. 21413-40F00 Clutch plates mount
as on the original clutch unit.
- Install
the pressure plate.
- Install
the clutch springs in position as before, install the spring retainers (
set ), tighten all bolts.
Check for the correct clearance
between pressure plate and clutch hub via the small holes in the pressure
plate. Correct clearance is about 1.0 mm. When the clutch pack wears, and the
clearance is as small as 0.5mm, install new friction plates.
- Every time
use new clutch cover gasket.
- Mount
case cover according to Suzuki workshop manual.
- Check
axial clearance on pushrod. On engine left side by small sprocket under
rubber cover is adjusting bolt. Correct clearance is about 0.5mm. If this
goes to 0.0, the clutch will slip all the time.
- ¨Don´t
install the clutch in hot or warm condition.
TUNING TIPS

when you have strong tuned up engine, and clutch slips on
acceleration, use optional parts 14210 and 14211 – shorter spring retainer set
for more preload on the clutch springs ( 0,6mm more preload 14210 red color,
1,2mm more preload 14211 black color ).
