15203 Antihopping clutch kit GSXR K5 2005 - mounting instructions
Congratulations, you bought one of the best clutch systems
for your GSXR.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced Suzuki service,
or experienced mechanic.
- Read
these instructions with photos before you start. Check if the kit includes
all parts
- Remove
the old clutch ( according Suzuki workshop manual ), clean the threads on
the shaft of old glue perfectly.
Clean these parts with brake cleaner.
- Check
that the original shim under clutch drum is still in its position
- Install
the pre mounted clutch drum unit to gearbox shaft
- Install
the shim ( original ) first and then
the nut ( also original ) Nut torque moment 110 Nm, use glue Loctite No.
620 (RED) to secure.
- This
slipper clutch is designed to use standard clutch plates. Used as the
first plate a thinner friction plate with thin steel rings with wire
spring there. NEVER mount them as first ( from case ). Mount a normal
friction plate first, then a steel plate and then the thinner friction
plate with steel rings. The remaining clutch plates mount as on standard.
- Install
the push rod with both shims and bearing
- Mount
the pressure plate. Install clutch springs with kit retainers and bolts.
- Check
for the correct clearance between pressure plate and clutch drum via the
small holes in the pressure plate. Correct clearance is about 1.0 mm, with
a new plates set. Minimal clearance is 0.5mm. We suggest using a new
clutch plates set.
When the plates are used or
aftermarket products, you can use different thickness of steel plates ( Suzuki
parts ) to set the correct clearance:
Order No. Thickness
21451-41G10-000 2.0
21451-41G00-000 2.3
21451-41G20-000 2.6
- Install
clutch cover according Suzuki workshop manual, adjust clearance on clutch
push rod and clutch cable and go back to track.
